Piano Black Exterior Trim Paint Code
Hey Folks,
Picked up a CPO '21 X7 and the paint needs a significant amount of touch-up, correction, and then I plan to do a ceramic coat on it. It's an M-sport, and the piano black trim (around the windows, roof rail, etc.) has a fair amount of nicks in it. Anyone find a gloss/piano black touch up paint that matches well? I think I can polish out many of the scratches, but there are a few rock chips deep enough that they're just pure white. Thanks! |

It’s just “gloss black” if you are referring to the black trim around windows and front grille. “Piano Black” is actually an interior wood trim made from tulip wood that is hand lacquered black.
Any gloss black paint would probably work on the exterior plastic trim. I would start with a gloss black spray can from a home improvement store. Spray it in a small cup and use a small brush or tooth pick to apply it. Use a lexan plastic polish like Novus for removing scratches on plastic trim. https://www.amazon.com/NOVUS-PC-10-P...s%2C130&sr=8-2 Last edited by MystroX5; 09-06-2023 at 05:13 PM.. |
