BMW 872M rims with Pirelli P Zero Winter 245/40/20
They’re finally here! And they’re beautiful
It was a tough choice between these and the 869 rims, but so glad I chose these. They give off a sportier look, and are easier to clean. Now I just have to wait for winter! Here are some pics for anyone interested in making the same purchase |

They look amazing. I’m glad I went with them over the 869s as well. Do you plan on just swapping out the rubbers later in the warm months or do you have a complete different setup for later?
I’m trying to decide what to do as it gets cold and we get some snow in the winter months.. tbh I don’t think I can afford a completely different set of wheels just for winter |

3600 euros and 110 euros for delivery from http://leebmann24.de (great customer service!)
Was actually quite a bit cheaper than most places who have them listed between 4000-4300 euros. |

When summer comes back, I’ll swap out the winter tires for summer tires, and then buy winter tires for my current 19” 871 rims. When the whole process is done: 20” 872 for summer 19” 871 for winter |

but how many more weeks before the snow starts falling? I've been going to Europe(including Austria, usually around Salzburg) since 1988. It just occurred to me that after 35 years, I never experienced snow in Europe at all even when I went in the winter. |

It’s almost non-existent in Vienna the last several years. But in general, snowfall in Vienna is relatively sparse, and when it does snow, it doesn’t stay for too long

I’m about to place your very same order with the folks at leebmann but I wanted to ask you for a renewed feedback now that you have more “mileage on your back”. We both come from the same wheel, the 871m, how would you rate the overall change in comfort of driving? Did the car get much stiffer and harder with road bumps etc? Also, any other feedback that comes at your mind will be greatly appreciated from me! Thank you! |

Now, comparing the 871 to the 872, I personally feel there is negligible difference in ride quality. There is a difference in consumption, but overall ride quality feels the same. Yes, if you don’t slow down and drive over a pothole, you will feel it a bit more, but I have always been careful over potholes, so there is no difference to me in that regard. One thing I noticed is going over speed bumps. In Austria, most speed bumps are relatively shallow and wide, so no issues there. But in some cases, they are high and narrow (e.g. going out of a parking garage) and there you feel the difference. Not much, but it is noticeable. Overall: for daily driving, I forget that I even changed wheels. Hope that helps! |

Thank you for your reply.
I come from a ‘06 120D msport and a ‘17 118D msport and those were much stiffer than my present x1, yet it never bothered me. My present X1 msport is the most comfortable car I’ve ever driven and owned and I didn’t want to ruin that feeling! Thank you for your feedback, I will give mine in case I proceed with the swap. |
