Comfort Access
Just wondering whether there is any way of turning off comfort access on the car when it arrives?
I know the key has a motion sensor but not a fan of keyless entry so wanted to turn off the feature if I could. Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, I did search but couldn’t find an answer. |

But you still don't need to take it out your pocket to unlock, I don't think you can disable keyless entry, only the proximity unlock (which I have found to be a pita as I park close to my house and going to the garage or taking the bins out starts clicking the locks).

Shouldn’t be too hard to work out which one you do or do not put next to the door handle when opening the car. Similarly which, if any, you put in the phone tray.

Don’t want it, don’t buy it Alternatively, put your key in a Faraday pouch. Also interested as to why you wouldn’t want it. |

It’s part of a pack and the other items I want.
I prefer to to turn it off so as to limit relay theft . Other cars that I’ve had (non BMW) allow you to turn off the setting completely just find it strange that BMW don’t |

The chances of someone getting signal grab from CA or a fob press IMHO equally slim. |

The bmw keys go to sleep if not moving so relay is mitigated to a fair degree.
I had a Merc that you could double tap the lock button on the fob and that disabled it and I liked that. It took me a while to get comfortable with the BMW method but if you put the fob on the ground near the car, after a short while you won't be able to unlock the door so relay would only work if the fob wasn't asleep. I don't keep my keys in my pocket when in the house. They also use rolling keys so replay theft is unlikely too.

Samesies. I usually just throw my keys in the car before washing/detailing, but I like the convenience factor enough to just deal with this minor issue. Another annoying aspect is I need to make sure my phone is far enough away from my car so it doesn't connect, as I play music through Bluetooth in my garage.

I still don't get why people walk round the house with car keys in their pocket, 1st thing I do when I go through the door is hang them up, don't need bulky keys in my pocket when I'm dossing. As to when I'm washing the car, I either leave them in the car or in the garage, don't have a problem with locking/unlocking then either.
