CCB Specs Needed for Wheel Build
Hey Guys…
I’m pretty desperate here and am in need of an assist. I’m in the process of getting a set of wheels built for my G80 M but the company only has the specs for the steel brake setup. My car has the CCB option and in order for them to build the most aggressive wheel setup, they need specific measurements. Anyone have this info on hand? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

Driverightdata has the CCB template - your wheel manufacturer can purchase it from them.

So there is a $210 fee to provide this info. Is that normal or am I supposed to be able to get this for free?
Thanks!

Here is the email I received from them. I don’t mind paying. But if I don’t have to, all the better.

I'm in the industry as are a couple others here. Brake data is one of the most difficult items to come across. Your options are pretty much: - buy from a third party like Driveright (who may not have what you need) - buy in bulk from TUV, which is absurdly expensive and doesn't always carry US market car data - the company physically measures cars with calipers/tapes or 3D scanners - customer measures and completes a template - hope that whoever is actually engineering and machining the wheels has the data. I never consider any data I'm sending to Asia as private. I've had my own cast wheels I've designed with a unique feature show up at distributors with a competitor's centercap installed because somewhere along the line someone shared data with someone they weren't supposed to. The best data out there is with Tire Rack, as they use wheel manufacturer drawings to compare against physically measured data. But, they don't share that information.

Understood.
However, a wheel manufacturer can provide the customer a wheel template with their proposed specs (concavity, et, spoke clearance) for the customer to place the template in the car rotors/calipers face and confirm clearance. Again, any decent wheel manufacturer can work with the customer without being this the most difficult item to come across, or expensive on its own. Quote:

We give out a much more detailed template than the OP got for customers to complete for oddball fitments. I do like to buy templates when I have the opportunity or need to. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say the majority of custom forged wheel companies operating in North America aren’t making their own wheels and don’t have engineering in house to handle the work. |

What company is this? They should be publicly shamed because this is cringeworthy.
Find a better wheel company.

Forgeline must have all this info, as they built my wheels perfectly. Nice lip with concave faces and clear the caliper with a few mm to spare.
