Sounds like power steering. Did you check to see if the fluid was low? These cars take the expensively rated power steering fluid so don't just grab the dot3 for the garbage cars. I'm lookin at you dodge neons.

I think the fluid is supposed to be serviced at certain intervals.

Definitely leaking, not sure if it's from the cap, the hose or both?

What should I do with this? Changing the whole reservoir is cheaper than only the o-ring, it's super dirty anyway. That would work ig if it's not also leaking from the hose. When replacing it, how many ML of CHF11S do I need? I've seen some posts of people using 2-3 liters doing the change but if I buy a brand new reservoir can't I just put the amount it needs and call it a day?

Good luck. Sounds like you’ve got a handle on it.

The cap on your PS reservoir says "ATF Oil Only" (usually just Dexron3 or equivalent)...not CHF11s. Was your cap replaced by someone else at some point and you know that labeling is wrong? The CHF11s is a green sticker around that ring...mine came off at some point and there was nothing under it, yours does have residue there but with how much other stuff is there it's hard to tell.

To answer my own question, spare I pulled from a boneyard with the label...does say ATF Oil under it...annoying if it goes and causes someone to top off with the wrong stuff. New(er) replacement cap is engraved only...no sticker.

Your cap says ATF only, I'd advise against using CHF. You can pick some up at autozone for really cheap. If you're mixing it you run the risk of damaging your PS pump and corroding hoses.

Yeah this was in older threads to. Some people CHF sticket fell off and I think some cars had ATF but it was just early prod cars? I'm not 100% sure since I never faced that problem myself.

I would check on realOEM with your VIN I think it might show you which one it is. Or it might show both and tell you to check...

On my LCI 335is N54 it is now engraved CHF11S in the cap itself.

But the color of your fluid also looks more reddish than old CHF11S maybe someone put ATF before?

There was a CHF sticker on it, it fell while removing the cap and I looked around with my VIN number and CHF came out more often. I thought the color was closer to green than red though, I might be wrong… KX60623 is my 7 last VIN

I emptied it with a turkey blaster, liquid is completely black and less than 100ml. Are the clamps of the hose reusable? Can I remove it now and only put the new reservoir monday or should I wait?

The factory oetiker clamps on the lines are not re-useable, you'll have to replace with new ones of your favorite style. And probably easier to just wait on removal till you're ready to put the new one in.

Changed it, added new fluid, went for a drive, no more sound and steering wheel feels good. I toped it up to the 2nd line and this morning I checked and it’s below the first line, I don’t see any leak up top but under the car it’s very oily (since yesterday, not new). Nothing on the floor though. Is it normal for it to be that low that fast after replacing it or is it leaking badly?

Depends on how much air got into the system, so I would certainly check it a few times to make sure the level isn't continually dropping. You can also check the power steering pump pully while the engine is running, look for it to "wobble"...if it is, then you're probably going to need to replace the pump. And then there's the rack, inner tire rod boots can hold fluid in them if the rack is leaking.

But, best to clean off any oil and gunk from around all of the power steering components and lines to help get a better visual on any leaks.
