iSweep vs. Redstuff

Thoughts on the two for street driving, occasionally spirited and the very occasional (maybe) autocross? The iSweeps are nearly double the price of the EBC Red Stuff. Worth it?

The consensus in my research is that they are comparable from a braking performance and noise perspective, but that iSweep might dust less and are far easier to find. Most have had a very hard time finding stock of EBC pads.

For what it's worth, I just ordered iSweep is2000 pads. I have run Red Stuff on my other car for four years and I wouldn't consider them low dust.

I'm going full iSweep 1500 this time around. EBCs are cheaper, but I think the iSweep's dust less. I don't notice any braking issues with iSweeps.

Might be going iSweep simply because I’ve been waiting 60+ days for EBCs with no end in sight.

Just a report on my IS2000s:
-They’re quiet, like silent. Maybe 1 short vibe coming to a stop sign once. Expected from ceramic. Never happened again.
-The dust is fine black and not sticky. Wayyy better than the brown sticky goo that comes off BMW’s OEM recipe pads.
-The IS2K bite is nice and firm, maybe a little better than OEM. When I switched to RedStuff in my F82 braking had a little less bite than stock.

Short read:
Great as a street performance pad.

They are comparable, ISweep is more readily available but more expensive.

Its a choice of whether you wish to wait or would rather spend more to get it right away

I ordered EBC pads from Armageddon website that said they were in stock. Of course they are not and when I tried to cancel order, they gave me the bs about they don't have control of website and of I cancel, there is a 25% restocking fee. I ordered the carbotech 1521 pads and they were here in three days.

Lol, a surcharge for restocking a product they never stocked in the first place? That's rich. I would absolutely dispute that charge and let them try that shit on the CCs investigations department.

If the website said in stock when you ordered, you can dispute the charge and you will 100% win the dispute.

Yea a lot of these small websites have hidden charges. In reality none of them are legit unless they actually send you the product. I just do dispute if they don’t refund let Amex deal with it.

Is a wear sensor needed to purchase or can your take the stock ones off and re-install on the new pads?

Just installed my IS2000 today, so far haven't tried stopping from high speed yet. But here's what I feel, brake setting I used comfort, I felt that I have to push extra 1-2cm of the brake to stop the car. I think I just need to get use to this, so no big deal.

For me, the feel for comfort is more like sport setting. Will try the sport setting this weekend to see if same feel or even more different feel.

I just used it right away, change the pad after my first service. No need to bed it, I don't feel any shaking or vibrating when stopping the car, so that's fantastic. All in all lucky I bought it and finally installed it.

Use the original ones, only replace them when they're worn down and you get a message saying change your brakes.
