Center Console Rattle
Driving the car today and noticed a rattle, I tracked it down to the centre floating console, if I pressed the lid with my arm it stopped, also if I opened it stopped. Anyone else experienced this? I've not look at fixing it as of yet.

rattle
I actually have no rattle from my car at all, expect the plastic door cupholders when you put something like a glass bottle in em, its done 25k too, so maybe warranty could cover it.

No issue for me, but definitely have the dealer look at it under warranty.

I got a minor rattle going over bumps - can only hear it when the windows are down which indicates its on the outside. sounds like 2 nut washers touching.
Took it to BMW and they couldnt find the cause even tho the tech could clearly hear it |

I'm not trying to hijack your thread because I don't have anything to add directly about the console noise.
But I just want to add that we had an issue where there was this high-ish pitch rattle that would happen when I would hit bumps or if the road wasn't perfect (which is 95% of the time around here). I assumed it came from the passenger side glove box or vents but it turns out it was the door lock knob (that thing that sticks out from the top of the door and goes up and down based on if your door is locked or not). They took the inside panel off, tied it down and it went away. It was covered by warranty. That was about 2 months ago. Now we have what sounds like a metal vibration inside the passenger side vents making a noise. My wife put her ear against the vent and it was clearly coming from there. It doesn't happen all the time but when it starts it won't stop and every road imperfection makes it do it. The sound is different than the first one so it's a different problem for sure. To say I'm less than impressed would be an understatement. I shouldn't be surprised because this is "year 1" of this redesign and also because "shit happens" but I didn't expect this from an SUV made in Germany, at least not in the first 7-8 months of ownership. I expected better from the BMW badge. It's not the end of the world of course and I guess I'm being a diva about it. :-) lol. I'll have them look at it when I bring it in for the winter tire swap. |

---. "My car has 1k miles and it is a 2023 model and there is a rattle noise that is driving me crazy and it is getting pretty loud. This car was $53k, and it makes more noise than my mother's car from the 90s... The noise looks to be coming from the driver side, like from driver side AC vent or dash area. It is doing it while the vehicle is in motion and stationary. I took it to the dealership and they were lazy and told me they couldn't replicate it to bring it in another day. I feel like they are just going to make it alot worst if they take down the dash. Has anyone experience something similar? I heard it could be the windows controller switch thing and tape it with electrical tape, but I think my noise is coming more from the AC vent area." |
