M50i vs M60i driving dynamics?
For those of you that have driven both the M50i and M60i, can you please share your thoughts on the driving differences? I’ve heard you can feel more power with the mild hybrid and it’s a touch faster. Engine is quieter…etc. I’m more concerned with steering, suspension, road noise/isolation, and overall feel. Thank you!

I sold my ‘21 M50i and bought a ‘24 M60i, I did feel the initial acceleration was faster due to the hybrid, engine sound on the M60i sounds like it has more burbles l, as far as isolation, suspension and steering I feel the same as my M50i not much noticeable difference at all. |

Were on our 2nd M50i and I have driven the M60i pretty extensively at a local BMW event so had some b2b seat time.
Honestly couldn’t feel much different in power, possibly a slight edge to the M60i due to electrification but it wasn’t very noticeable to me. Aside from the new tablet interior, everything else was exactly the same. I pushed it hard on a few corners and everything: suspension, handling, etc. felt exactly like our M50i. |

My wife has a '20 X7 M50i and I have the '24 X7 M60i.
I feel like the '24 is much quieter when it comes to engine sound, but that could just be from mine being newer and not totally broken in yet (got it in August). Handling and performance wise, they feel very similar. However, I prefer the interior design of the '20 better. Especially the iDrive system.

I've had both, but about a year in-between each. Traded in the M50i Nov 2021 and picked up the M60i in Nov 2023.
I really liked the way the M50i sounded, especially on start-up. I feel it's louder with everything open...then it quiets down. I also believe the sound is quite a bit more "real". For example, when in a garage or tunnel, you could hear the M50i from the exterior more. The M60i, starts up loud, but then quiets down. Also, there is artificial sound pumped into the M60i's cabin, moreso than the M50i. When you turn off "dynamic" sounds in the menu, the M60i gets pretty quiet on this inside. Also, I noticed it stays quiet on the outside. I can't do a side-by-side comparison, so I may be off here and both sound the same from the outside. Maybe someone here who has both, can do a quick comparo. For both our X7s, we pretty much got the same exact option...fully loaded for the most part. The only change is we went with bench seating versus captains chairs in the M50i. Interior fit and finish is the same for both. We did leather dash on both, looks great. Color is Tartufo, and both looked and feel great. Gaps and seams were pretty much minimal, so the body panel fit was great. Interior ambient lighting on the M60i, especially the dash area is less than the M50i. Now, this might just be my M60i, but I had about 20,000 miles on my M50i, and now I have about 20,000 miles on my M60i. In the M60i, it does feel to me, like the engine vibrates a bit more at idle. Like when I sit at a stop light or right after I start it up, I can feel the steeing wheel vibrate just slightly. I didn't really notice this too much in my M50i, but that was over a year ago. Just in case you don't know, the engines are different in both, even though the displacement and power is the same. Transmission, shifts, suspension feel, drivability, etc are all pretty much the same. |

saijin , which one has more spiritual sound while driving? Also, any idea if the M60i is much quieter (from the outside)? I care more about the spirits of hearing the engine from inside honestly, because my other daily drive is a full EV, so I would want my ICE sport SUV to hear and feel like a real sport car.
