I got a survey from my dealer and one of the questions kind of intrigued me. Not sure why a dealer wants such info? (especially since they can easily figure it out based on data from the service department, no?)


Question: how many miles do you drive your X1 each month?


for me it's around 300 miles per month.(average of the total mileage since delivery 6 months ago)

***for those in metric countries... 1.6 kilometers = 1 mile

One reason they might be interested in that data is to better tailor offers for lease specials, maintenance specials, etc.

I've had my car since Jan 14, and am at just over 8,400 miles, with my first scheduled oil change at 9,000.

in my case, I guess the app won't tell me to go get an oil change until April.(1 year from delivery) I need to drive it a lot more. Last month I didn't even do more than 40 miles. Will try to do more than 100 miles by the end of this month. All the extremely short trips can't be good for the car.

Don't know, the odometer is not on the display, you can only see it by changing main driver screen to fuel economy use.

yeah, that annoys me all the time... no idea why BMW decided that it was a good idea to hide the odometer.

My wife is putting about 2500 miles per month. We are getting close to a year with the car and it is almost at 30,000 miles...

oh wow! long commute? reminds me of a friend from a long time ago.. he commutes daily from DC to Delaware. 200 miles each day by car. (no, he wasn't Joe Biden)

does the car remind you to get the tires rotated every 5000 miles? or is this something that the owner has to remember? are tire rotations covered by the free 3-year or 36k-mile maintenance?

Never got a notice to rotate the tires. I actually haven’t rotated tires in 15 years, since all of my previous BMWs had staggered setups.
