Ultimate Driving Experience

Just got back from the BMW Ultimate Driving Experience. I took my son, who has been driving 2 years. Unfortunately, no i5 was available for the auto cross. There was an i4 M50 and a 330e. I drove the i4 first which was really fun. It did have the stinky Sensatec interior, but the drive was 2 short laps, so no major olfactory assault. The 330e wasn’t anything special. The hybrid motor didn’t really help with the turbo lag. My Jaguar XE R-Dynamic has less lag, a bit faster, handles better and has a much nicer interior. I’m glad I bought it over the 3 series.

I had previously driven an i4 eDrive 40 which was also very fun to drive. Slower, but a bit more fun with the rear wheel drive. My i5 test drive will be next weekend. I’m hoping it drives like the i4 but with a nicer interior.

I think you would like the i5. It drives as an i4, just bigger and heavier, and its quality feels as an i7, just without that crazy cinema screen.
