Came on over the weekend, can't find any detail about what's causing it. No alerts or notifications tied to it, car has about 5500 miles on it. Easy way to diagnose the issue without an OBD adapter?

Actually forgot that I had one - got it for the x5 and never used it with the x7 since we can't code. Error came back as P0F59 which another forum is saying is the bottom radiator blind does not move freely.

Taking it in next week as it doesn't appear to be an urgent issue. Good times

Had a similar light come on around the same mileage as yours, but code was different, took it to one dealer and they came up with some BS that they couldn’t reproduce it as it cleared on its own by the time i got there. I asked them to download 8.5 and they refused claiming theres nothing wrong with software so they weren’t allowed to download it.
Light came back on same night, took it to another dealer in town and the light was again gone by the time I took it in, they said theres probably a software issue, updated me to 8.5 and light never came back about 3 weeks ago.

First thing to check if your radiator blinds are open or closed? If they’re open with the engine off and fan is not running that means they’re not closing correctly.

If they’re closed then they are not opening which is a bigger issue since the radiator isn’t getting air and could cause the car to overheat.

Being stuck open means you lose some aerodynamics which will cause your mpg to decrease, at least on the highway so not a big deal.

This happened on my G12 and was because some dirt got in there and caused it to be stuck open.

Either way it shouldn’t happen, and should be a simple fix under warranty.

you can try bimmerlink if you have it. latest version can connect to the lci.

I just rebought Bimmerlink and still no connection with the MX+ adapter on my LCI. Any ideas?
