2024 540?
I read they are supposed to make one. I had a 540i before and really liked it, I believe it was maybe a 2018?
I’m looking for the searing to be more comfortable than my X3 M40i and I HOPE a new 540 will have a shifter lever as I rest my hand there and also use its functionality daily. And dare I wish for a real exhaust with tips that are on the rear of the car bumper. Lol Anyone know about the 540 for 2024. Can’t seem to find much online. |

While it's not buildable on the website yet, the ordering documents are in the sticky posts above. Dealers are taking orders and I'm told the first ones are arriving soon. I assume you are in the US.

Yes. I am in the US. I just saw the build sheet. That’s good news. Hoping for a shift lever and a real exhaust tailpipe system but I’m dreaming. So weird how BMW isn’t building what people want. Are they so far off with all this that the company could fail or get bought out? It’s truly confusing to me!

And last quarter was the best in their history, they’re selling well, they’re building what people want (i5 and 530i will both sell way more than 540), so no, they’re not falling behind.

They are restricted by regulations. At least I’m Europe they have to lower the co2 output across the range every year and sleeking EVs and smaller engine cars enables them to achieve that
That does at least allow them to build in small numbers, cars like the m5 I think I’m right in saying the 540 won’t even be coming to Europe (correct me if I’m wrong on that) |
