Thats a sick 0-60mph time. Maybe with some mods(intake, chip, full exhuast), it might just hit 0-60 in the 3 second range.

Not even man. Just wait for the DCT tranny that debuts next year. I'll put money that it will do 3.9seconds at most!!! M3's were never that FAST...they were pretty and handled well. Ya know, evoked emotion. This thing is FAST!!

Okay, BMW claims 4.8 sec to 60mph with the new M3.... Hmmm. Wonder what our little 135i is capable off, since BMW claims it's a 5.1 sec car. I'm assuming 4.6 - 4.7???

A torque "curve" that curves about as much as a table-top has to be some kind of crazy German voodoo magic. I think I'd be fairly content to leave it be. |

When I saw that flat torque curve I was in complete shock...I dont think I ever saw such a flat torque curve that goes all the way to redline.

I need to read the article - but having subscribed to and read R&T for the past 40 years, I can tell you, their numbers are usually conservative. Look for Motor Trend to get into the 3s. ; -)

I dunno Hugo. 4.1 is the fastest yet. I've seen 4.3 and 4.5 even. Maybe BMW slightly tweaked the car after the first rags got their cars from them. I hope so!! Its about time the M3 is as fast as the M5 and M6. 71MPH in the slalom is NOTHING to sneeze at.

If you look at how R&T does their testing, you can get a feel for why their numbers are relatively conservative. I don't know why that number is so discrepant from BMWs number though. I thought it might be a typo but the graph of time to speed verified it, go figure.
