my dealer sells X1 with PPF already applied as a $1499 add-on on the window sticker
On Monday, I went to my dealer to order the roof racks. They had 3 new X1's sitting out front. My CA said that they just arrived a week ago. The window sticker on two of them had PPF $1499 listed as dealer installed options.
the PPF included front and rear bumpers, hood, all fenders, doors and lower skirts. The roof was not included. The salesman said it was the Xpel Ultimate with 10-year warranty. But it was applied by an installer who came to do the jobs inside the dealership and the dealer's own detailer applied ceramic coat on top of it afterwards. They looked real good to my untrained eye. I didn't think much of at the time, but when I got home, I asked a couple of local installers and got estimates of well over $4000 for the same ppf film. I plan to call my salesman next week and see if the BMW dealer can do it on my x1 for $1499. If so, I assume that's an excellent price? |

My dealership gave me the interior protection coating and exterior ceramic coat as part of the deal when I was closing out the sale on my car. Turns out after doing some research on the brand they listed on the invoice, it's not a true ceramic coat and more of a paint sealant with hydrophobic properties. I was a little irritated that it was misleading, but I personally don't really care since it's a lease anyway.

That is a ridiculous price for that. No way that's either full xpel or legit ceramic coat for that price. At an absolute minimum, it should be twice that much.

Double check it's been applied everywhere that the dealer says...sounds ridiculously cheap to me and I get great deals on ppf work on ally vehicles...even ceramic would be $800-$900 min
