BMW app alarm push notifications, only with interior camera?

Hello,
I plan to buy a x1 U11 and I definitely want to receive push notifications when alarm is triggered. I see that it is possible through anti-theft recorder system, through the exterior or interior cameras ?

The question is do I really need to buy the parking assistance plus (expensive) with the exterior cameras in order to have it work ?? Or can I just only add the interior camera and I will have the notification in my phone when the alarm is triggered ?
The goal here is to achieve the alarm push notification in my phone with the minimum cost. Has anyone make it work with just the interior camera?

Not helpful to you, but when the alarm goes off i get pictures of outside and inside. Both seem useful if not required to get the value out of the feature

How does that work? Does the car have a cell connection? Do you pay a subscription fee to have it connected?

Car has a cellular connection included with the car for X amount of years I believe. After that I think you have to pay once the included subscription ends. Mine says it's good till Jan 2027, so 4 years for me.

the car does have cell connection... in fact, a lot of functions depend on it. there's no subscription fee because it's mostly for the X1 to send data to BMW. (which in turns allows you to use the BMW app to access info about your trips, TPMS, fuel status, lock/unlock, remote start(if so equipped), etc.

The question here remains: what do I need to enable the anti theft recorder feature? Is the interior camera enough or do I also need the parking assistance plus?

I’m not sure, when I ordered my car both the exterior and interior cameras came as a set.
