Rear Camera & Reverse Gear

So, in every vehicle I've owned with a reverse camera (including my 2005 van) putting the car in reverse automatically brings up the reverse camera view.

A few times on my X1, specifically in parking situations, when putting into reverse, the camera doesn't always come up. If it doesn't the first time, I'll put it back in D, then to R and it will click over to backup camera view on the second try.

I was using Android Auto at the time, but I'm not sure that has anything to do with it, unless it causes some sort of delay?

Has anyone else experienced this?

It happened again today. I was parking so I was in D slowly, put in R, start reversing, no camera. This time I did not have my phone connected so I don't think AA is part of the issue.

So I hit the brakes, put back in D then in R again, the camera came on. It's like jiggling the handle on a toilet!

I have not seen this issue during the last 7 months.

if you haven't tried it already, do a hard reset of the system by pressing and holding down on the volume wheel near the gear selector. after the system reboots, see if cures the problem... if not, time to see the dealer.

SpaceSilver.X1 Will a hard reboot remove all my custom settings, radio presets, etc?

The reset doesn’t normally delete your settings it’s basically like resetting your phone.

So today I did the reset...and when it came back on, my "deactivate once" shortcut for autostart/stop was disabled!

So...I rebooted again. And the shortcut was operable again.

I'm not feeling great about Gladys today.
