Native Spotify App Sound Goes Blank For a Brief Moment

When I listen to Spotify on the native iDrive app the sound will sometimes go blank/pause for a second or so and then resume. Happens at random times, sometimes it does it several times during a song and sometimes it’ll go several songs before it happens.

Anyone else have this issue?

I hadn't had this problem until two days ago. Switched to running it through CarPlay and was fine. Car is getting tint, will be picking it up today and see how it's working.

Yes, I have noticed this in my G20 with iDrive 8. The sound quality of the native Spotify is noticeably better than Spotify through CarPlay so I want to use it. But the occasional drop-offs make it hard to listen to. I don’t get drop-offs when using Spotify or Apple Music through CarPlay.

Built in Spotify is garbage. I complained here about it months back and got nothing. Either the signal/connection drops out for a bit or the thing just decides on startup that it doesn't want to connect at all. It just sits at the Loading... screen.

ID8 has just been buggy in general. Keeping hoping a new update will fix it.

I’ve been using the Spotify app since I picked up my car six months ago, and it’s been mostly fine.

Had one day where it simply would not connect (none of the connected apps worked like weather, news, etc). Next day it was fine.

I feel like I have experienced the issue the OP describes once briefly too.

Otherwise the app has worked fine, and I like that it starts playing the moment I open the door.

Handy to be able to select songs/playlists/stations using the app on my phone too!

Took delivery of my G80 in June and the native Spotify was flawless until about a month ago. It started with occasional brief dropouts but over the last 3-4 days has become unusable. Now it locks up, fails to load, won’t advance to the next song, etc… It seems the issue started when I received a software update. My car has been buggy as hell the last few days as well. The walk away lock doesn’t always work, nav searches are slow, and the Spotify issues worsened.

Mine in android auto seems to replay the same song over and over again until i pick a new song then it goes to the next song

After prompting me to sync my Spotify account no less than three times, it finally booted through the loading screen and started playing. Did it while parked in my garage, not sure if that's what did it or what?

Haven't taken it out for a drive yet though.
