Jan 2, end of year for sales, best day to try to get a deal in a new X5?
Good day to all:
Jan 2 is the last day of Christmas incentives given by BMW. Its also, likely the last day of the business year for dealerships, who likely are trying to boost their numbers and get sales/meet incentives awards from the mother ship. So, perhaps a better deal than most other days could be hammered, in a new car purchase on that day?. Willing to stand corrected, if this line of reason is not accurate. Just soliciting in put, from those savvy knowledgeable folks in the forum. |

My opinion is that it likely will have little to no effect on the deals. I’m sure you may be able to find a great deal somewhere on an in stock vehicle where the dealer needs the sale but in general for orders there will be no difference.

That’s the traditional reasoning - as well as “last day of the month” throughout the year. For the illustration you offer, expect it would most likely apply to models already on the lot vs. built by allocation from the factory.

Agree with TurtleBoy.
Absolutely no impact on custom orders. The only way would be if a dealer was close to a target where they get a large incentive for hitting. Finding that scenario would be challenging. Not to mention, the programs were very good this month on the x5. Slim pickings for in stock units. Most of them you will probably find at dealers who are not as willing to make a deal to begin with. |

Agreed. I think it's more of a thing that dealers say to make you feel like you're getting a better deal. Like "I argued with my manager and got him to agree to x". It's all mind games.
