22-24 M40i Ceramic Brake Pad Options?
What am I missing here, but I can't find any ceramic brake pad options for my 2024 M40i. We've only had the X3 for a little over a month and the brake dust is driving me bananas. New or not, the current pads have to go and I'd rather do it sooner than later while the rotors are still relatively new.
Akebonos are the trusted ceramic pads on my F10 and E85, but surprised to see none available for the M40i. FCP or Rockauto aren't listing any options either. First time also feeling helpless without realoem availability.

They are the same calipers and pads as the earlier cars.
Rock auto list plenty for the 20/21 year. |

People have had good luck with Power Stop Z23 pads. You can get them at Rock Auto. $73.79 front, and $44.79 rear.

Each pad as shown comes as in a set for both front/rear brakes or for only per individual brake? Might as well also get the sensors.
Thanks.

Edit: Would dealer(s) notice or try to cancel any warranty done prior to required mileage of replacing brake pads?

Another great thing about ceramic brake pads is not only do they have very low dust but they last super long. I finally sold my M3 almost 9 yrs later with over 50K miles and the pads still had a ton of life left in them. |

I have finally purchased the Power Stop Z23 ceramic brake pads for front and rear. However, this replacement is on hold. After communicating with Mike Miller, he thinks it is a cockamamie idea to use ceramic pads to original BMW rotors. He recommends to also replace the rotors made for ceramic pads. The steel used for BMW's pads are very different from the steel used for ceramics. Looks like I have to dig deeper to my pocket for rotors. Any recommendations on where to get rotors? Have not yet tried Zeckhausen. Or I just might use the pads that I have and replace later when they get worn down. Also hopefully by that time, there would be other ceramic pads available aside from Power Stop? Crossing fingers.

You may also want to ask him if the air in the left front tire is the same type of air in the rear left? I don't think it is compatible from front/rear air but it might be the same air if left/right Oh also BMW change their part number concerning the new blinker fluid for 22 and up BMW's. To my understanding, Ceramic is harder than the rotors so the rotors will wear faster. Ceramic to grind metal. Everyone has their points. Just playing safe. Need rotors that are drilled/slotted rotors.
Like I said. I might end up using the rest of the original brakes until worn down and change to ceramic with matching applicable rotors with more choices....for now.

"Yes, you can use ceramic brake pads on stock rotors. Ceramic brake pads are known for their durability, low dust, and quiet operation. They are compatible with most stock rotors and can provide improved braking performance compared to traditional semi-metallic pads." Man Do I have a deal for the Brooklyn Bridge....cheap Das...real cheap for you. |

No matter...beyond my price range. BTW. Are there any other choice for ceramic pads aside from Power Stop?

I used ceramic brake pads years ago, when they appeared on the market - they didn't actually create much dust, but at the expense of braking efficiency. Has anything improved in the current ones?

Early versions of ceramic pads weren't great. A lot has improved though and it also depends on the brand/model of pads. Many are required to match the OE performance but some are still sh*ty.
