IX getting popular?

I've owned mine since Nov last year and barely saw another IX. As of today, I'm seeing IX in almost every city and yes, in my own neighorbood. I wonder if the lease specials from Nov onwards lured a lot of EV customers in.

I have a hybrid job for healthcare but during my clinic visits, I can drive to a radius of 250 miles so did one commute today and it was nice to see several IX on the way. Popular colors I've seen are white (same as mine) and blue and grey. Funny was one guy was driving it like he stole it ..lol. Bet he came from a tesla ...haha.

I think I’ve seen a total of 4 in 6 months. I know they’ve sold a good amount. And I am in a metro with 4 dealers and a lot of BMWs, but few iXs.

Other than at dealerships, we have only seen one on the road since mid-August in the Portland, OR area. Must be many but where?

I live in Wichita, KS. I’ve seen a few locally but I don’t think I’ve seen one while driving on interstate or at a charging station. When I leased my IX in October there were four on the lot. When I returned to the dealership a week later for some paperwork, the other three had been leased or sold according to my sales guy. I think the lease incentives motivated a lot of folks…like me.

Other than the dealer, over a year plus, I've seen two in the wild. Mine and spouse's. Which is odd, because I know for sure the owner of the dealership has an M60, and they've sold well over 20, with 3 on the lot now. Just invisible driving around. Couple of Teslas every day, the rare Rivian, a few eTrons (Audi dealership has several), and a handful of "unknowns" without tailpipes that we puzzle over as they pass. OTOH, no MB (several at the dealer), no Lucids (not surprising), no Lightnings, no Mach-E, really nothing other than multiplying Teslas (we have at least 4 in our subdivision). I'm sure they're out there, just not in numbers enough to see in random trips. The iX is noticeable on the highway - can't miss it! I should add I'm driving the first iX50 sold in the state, and spouse is driving the first M60. But if you had to prove it by me, the only ones!

They are all over the place now in Los Angeles. I see 1-2 of them almost every day. It's kinda nice to see!! Only in the last 2-3 months did I start to see them. Good for BMW to make the price so nice for these new buyers!!

During the past nine months, I've seen only two others in the Tallahassee/North Florida/South Georgia market. One because I was tipped to its location by a CA; the other because I introduced a friend to the iX, he test drove mine and, the next day, leased the only one in stock at the only local (and somewhat anemic) BMW dealership.

I see at least one a day when I'm out. More popular? I don't think so. I probably see 4x as many R1S's and probably 2x as many i4. I'm also in an area where a white Tesla has become more common than a beige Toyota so there is that. Our county is seeing about 20% of new car sales being a BEV.

See them all the time now in NNJ, and many have temp tags still. I think the December promotions plus all the inventory that had been on hold due to the stop sale opened the floodgates. We also have no tax on electric so it's really a no brainier for suburbanites replacing an X3, x5, etc.

Not many at all in my neck of the woods. I have only seen a couple in the last year. Tesla followed by Rivian, Ionic and VW are more common.

BTW just watched the newest Mission Impossible movie and was interesting to see the iX as part of the many BMWs shown.

Seeing a few ix's around town (Woodstock, NY) these days, mostly on weekends. BMWs in general becoming much more popular around the Hudson Valley.

I was up at Carmax in Albany yesterday, a giant National used car buyer & seller. The guys there haven't seen any ix yet, and checked the system and out of tens of thousands of cars around US only one IX in Nevada showed up on their system.
They did give me a great deal on the 2020 4Runner they bought from me. More than enough to one-pay my lease for my IX 50 BRM build. Trade in credit at my BMW dealer would have been $4,000 lower.

This table is showing BEV registrations in Washington State. I filtered on DMV/DOL transaction dates of Nov 1-Dec 31, 2023 although I'm not seeing December data yet. So this is effectively November data for the state. Looking at this view, no BMW hit the top of the BEV list for November. Even the Rivian EDV (Electric Delivery Van) made the list. The BMW's are in the "Other" bucket.

I see several per day here in San Diego.

Funny story, yesterday a friend called me to catch up. We started talking cars and he is buying an iX for his wife nearly identical to my build. He had no idea that I owned one and started asking a bunch of questions about my iX vs my wife's EQS SUV.

I see it from time to time, especially at EA stations. NJ not taxing EV might have contributed to it too

I changed my order because of the Mission Impossible iX. I was originally going to order Oyster. After seeing the dark interior (MI is chestnut), I pivoted to mocha.

I’ve seen quite a few of them on the streets. There is an m60 just few houses down the street.
Someone that I got to know recently got two of those. One of his is blue ridge metallic same as mine. His wife got lost a few times when we parked next to each other.
Looks like those iX’s like our weather or something.

I took delivery of mine 23 IX50 in November of 2023. I live 40 miles north of Columbus Oh in a small town of 20,000 and i have never seen another one other than at the dealer in Columbus. I do however see about 3 or 4 different Tesla,s on a regular basis and I see Porsche ICE cars as well but no Porsche EVs.
