How to access phone apps through Android Auto on ID9
Did another long trip yesterday and tested out Android Auto. Not sure I'd use if for maps yet as the BMW Nav has been fairly decent except for one address error.
However, I "thought" when connected to Android Auto there was a way of accessing phone apps as well? I searched forums and videos and the Comms Manual and came up empty. I thought I saw a screen when connecting my spouse's phone that showed some phone apps but can't find that screen again. My main motivation is to access Pandora on my phone. I was able to connect to Spotify through BMW's connected drive but can't I also access Spotify, Pandora or other apps through Android Auto? If so, how do I get to that screen? On the way home last night it magically started playing Pandora from my phone after I stopped for gas but I have no idea how it started doing that. I was listening to Spotify on connected drive before stopping for gas.

Thanks. Is that ID9? He said it's a 2023 X1.
My screen is a little different and I don't have the white circle used to get to the apps list. Perhaps I need to go thru the setup again or enable location. I'll go check from my spouse's account later as well.

Ahh, ok missed that in your post. Sorry. Still, should be close, no? Or...maybe something in the owner's manual I would think...

Not sure what I did or what changed but it seems to be working now. Perhaps due to a bug? Here's screenshots of what it looks like in ID9. The dotted menu in the lower left is how to access the apps.

If the bottom left is the same in ID8 then the OS in that video must be something different as the access/location is the white button in the top left. Could it be ID8.5?

Her X1 is definitely ID8. I'm not at all certain if yours is 8.5 or 9. I haven't seen either in any great detail, but I do know that your screenshot and what is in my wife's vehicle are identical. My gut says 8.5...that said since this is an AA screen, wouldn't they all be the same for any ID OS version? Because AA version x.x should be presented the same way in any given BMW?
