Hi-
Does anyone know what the metal tabs are on both sides of the oil cooler - what are they for. This is the only portion of the car that scrapes on my driveway - trying to understand if I should care |

They are indicators that your driveway is too steep.

Are you lowered? Once they wear out your oil cooler will be next.

So are they there to protect the oil cooler? Can you replace those parts by themselves when they wear down?
Although after I take an 1/8th off those parts, I will cease to have an issue(but maybe still rub the oil cooler trim). I am not lowered. I had a M2 for 6 years and scraped up the underside of the spoiler (but not to bad). I wouldn’t say the driveway is too steep. The issue is that where the street meets the driveway it rises to a crown in the middle so there is a canal - difficult to resolve with just a couple of those rubber ramps - maybe with two wide |
