Recall Fault in the Electrical Break System - 0034670200

Hey,

On my X1 build in June 23 got a notification that there is an open recall with number 0034670200 about the fault in the electrical break system. It says that all related electrical parts and the break system need to be changed. An important part of the notice is that here in our country they don't have enough parts so it will take time to be called for the repair.

I couldn't find anything online about this recall code.

Did any of you get it as well and go for the repair? I wonder what to expect.

In the recall tool it is effective for my VIN, but up till today no message in the app or from my BMW dealer.

I did get the notice in the app and in car's notifications. But nothing from the dealer, I may visit them today to check with them.

My 9/22 production date X1 seems to be affected as well. Time to wait for the notification via mail.

Do the "e" versions have regenerative brakes? Perhaps the problem lies with them

I haven't received anything for mine via app or on the recall site.
This can't just be the PHEV's as per the post above by Vitacura, the hybrid is not available in the US.

Not sure if this is different, but took our iX1 in this morning as the remote services were not reliable and we've not received any OTA updates since new (still on 03/2023).

Delayed getting it back due to a recall on the "charging unit".

Hi

I was due to receive my X130e on Monday but there has been a delivery stop on it. This applies to all X1/IX1 by the looks of it.

it is a issue with the Fx Gx Integrated braking system. BMW have not said what is needed to fix it so i am unsure when i will receive the car.

Was due to receive a 6 month old X5 tomorrow and have had the same message. Was told it affects X1s and X5s. Heard the news Tuesday and as of Thursday evening there is no news on fix or timescale.

Got the iX1 back today. They’ve installed 11/2023 so hopefully it will fix some of the iDrive gremlins. Also got the following recalls resolved:

10061250800 - Gx U10 U11 Replacing Combined Charging Unit
1STOP024983 - FX GX Intergrated Breaking System

Wife put it on charge when she got home but didn’t notice it was going to take 46 hours to charge from 20%! Looks like it reset the max Amps to 6!

What was done for the fix? was it just a software issue?

I was also due to pick up my X1 2023 23d M Sport last weekend but there is a delivery block on the model while the dealer is awaiting a fix from BMW. It affects the X1, X5, X7, XM, 5 and 7 series. They can't give a timescale for release of the car at present. I've also spoken to other dealers who confirm the same.

They did the software update to 11/2023 which we had taken it in for. Not sure whether it's fixed OTA as won't know until July when we should get 03/2024.

My understanding of the other two items was they were urgent replacement parts. They didn't give us the option of getting the car back - we were annoyed about losing the car overnight but they did the work without asking.

Here's the NHTSA notification. Affecting a lot more models than the 2023 X1.

That sounds like a potentially serious issue!

After reading that with my wife, we both said we'd experienced the same sensation. Not sure if a coincidence but it was when slowing down and you get under 30mph, occasionally you get the sensation that you've slipped off the brake and touched the accelerator for a second. You get that sensation that the car is running away from you.

I thought maybe I'd fat footed the brake and clipped the accelerator!

Will see if it's gone away.

I got an alert for this today in the My Garage section of bmwusa.com. It's titled "Recall Campaign No.24V-104 Integrated Brake". It does not show up in the app (at least not yet). My car would have been built in March of 2023.
