No Carplay in Korea
Please help.
I am a U.S. military servicemember who purchased a 2023 US-spec X1. in Korea. Upon initial delivery, I synced my iPhone and had CarPlay. But, when I reset iDrive (to start from clean slate), I was no longer able to have CarPlay functionality no matter how many times I attempted syncing. I was warned that CarPlay may not work in Korea but the fact that I had it at one point tells me that it's possible to get it again. Does anyone know what I can do? I've contacted Bimmertech and BMW USA and BMW Korea and all of them say they can't help me. I'm hoping someone here can. |

I saw this on another forum / thread recently. Not tested it as not had a need to but could be worth a try:
BMW Reset procedure 1) Press and hold the Vol knob until the console screen turns black and reboots. This is a basic reset. 2) Press and hold the Vol knob until the console screen turns black and reboots a total of 3 times. This is a harder reset. 3) Get into the car and press the Start button 3 times (don't press the brake) then press and hold the Vol knob for 3 reboots |

You might want to check with any local forums/ Facebook groups for market-specific differences.
CarPlay is disabled in where I live due to local regulations. Not sure if that’s the case for BMW. They might not have disabled in a “clean” way. I am purely guessing |
