I am noticing a weird issue with the HUD on my X1. Iconography of warning messages and album art in the HUD appear to have triangular chunks missing out of them. Has anybody experienced this? It’s hard to see but I have attached the uneven payment warning message and it has a chunk missing out of the warning exclamation icon. Same issue occurs when changing music tracks, the album icons have a chunk missing.

Is it missing in the same shape and location every time? If so, could be the display failing.

No it’s not always same place. In this image the background loaded and only the sign icon is missing a chunk.

I have exactly the same issue. And also sometimes happens at the main screen inside some popups for example while the popup for the reverse assistant appears.

It is not screen issue because the screen/hud shows just fine the rest of the text/graphics when they appear on the same spot.

I saw on Facebook a customer from US that went to the dealer and they replaced the head unit with a new one that solved the issue.

Personally i spoke with the dealership and they told me to bring the car for inspection and if a replacement needs to be done they will do it. But the dealership is far from my home and since it is a very minor graphical glitch i postponed it to check on a future date.

I also have the same issue. I noticed it when I first picked up the car in October, I let my car dealer know straight away....he wanted to keep the car for some time to test and notify bmw, after waiting 9 months for the car, I wasn't going to wait again especially after just getting the car.
I took the car in on Monday, he has taken some photos, I'm now waiting on a response from BMW on how to proceed.
I'm going to pass on this thread to him.

Yes this is the exact issue that I am seeing.

The service department mentioned it may just need a software update, because it isn't happening in the same spot of the hud.
For example in phone mode in the hud.> Recent calls, when going through the recent calls list the phone emblem/icon has distorted graphics on the first 3 or 4 contacts, as i continue to go down the list to the next set of 4 contacts the emblem becomes solid again.

Just for curiosity, what software is currently on all your cars? I'm on July 2023.

Mine was updated to 07/2023.53 back in October, a few weeks after i bought it. But the issue appeared also before updating so the update didn't solve it.

Maybe it needs a clean install from the dealership to fix the graphics glitch

A simple update at the dealership did the trick. Software has now been updated to 11.2023.

I verify also that in the latest update (11/2023) that now started to roll out as OTA these gui bugs are fixed!

The “P” icon was cut.

Nice, are OTA updates staggered because the myBMW app says 07/2023.53 is the latest.

There is no logic to who does or doesn’t get updates unfortunately. Early on everyone was getting the updates, then there were issues with cars getting bricked and having to be recovered to the dealer. Since then updates have been sporadic at best.

I was able to install it today and it indeed fixed the HUD issues.
