Bmw ix headunit high errors
Hi
Car: Bmw ix 2024 xdrive50 with 8.5 unit. I got bimmerlink and scanned my car. I found 18 errors in headunit high and they are these 5 errors. 7f0263 (once) 500263 (many) 50a763 (thrice) 50b7f8 (twice) 50b7f9 (once) There is no description available and search doesn't return good results. Is this something I need to worry about? How do I lookup these codes. I don't have any alerts on the car. I found these only by scanning with obd. Last edited by sound1; 03-10-2024 at 03:13 PM.. |

You mention neither the model year or OS/head unit, but probably nothing of concern (assuming everything is working), but you won't be able to clear the faults. Have your dealer scan and address.

See above. Has your dealer run diagnostics on your car? The electronics and software coding in an iX are largely not DIY fixes. In spite of "scanning with OBD," these may or may not be legitimate problem faults, and you will not be able to clear them in your garage with an OBD reader. What they are is only of academic interest right now as far as what you can do about them other than to have your car diagnosed by a BMW dealer who has access to a computer which can 1) determine what they represent, 2) if any of them represent a problem and if anything needs to be done about it, and 3) fix them.

Unless a ‘warning light’ pops up on the dash, I would never even look for any codes via OBD II, as it would crank the anxiety metre way over to the right probably for nothing. |

All true - many of these turn out to be leftover fault codes subsequently fixed with updates, or erroneously reported by the software, or some conflict the computer detects but is non-functional. Generally if it's significant enough you'll get some popup message telling you to panic.

I scanned OBD and found a these errors. Like I said in the post, I didn't get any warnings on the dash.
I was hoping this was something I could understand myself, but from the responses here it looks like there is not much diy here. |

There’s no reason to diagnose faults for issues that do not exist. All BMWs have fault codes. Not all fault codes indicate something wrong. Some can be purely informational faults. Some can be message faults. Without fault code descriptions it’s also pretty meaningless the fault code numbers you provided.
