Secured purchase of a 2021 X7 40i for a good price from a private seller. I was the first person to hit him up about the car within an hour of it being listed.
$54k: Premium Package, Cold Weather Package, Extended Leather, Luxury Seating, Alcantara Headliner and M Sport Brakes, 757 staggered wheels, glass controls, parking assistant and some other minor stuff like shadow line trim and individual color. It only had 23k miles on it and was driven on the highway primarily based on average speed in the individual trip for the past 6k miles (average speed 40mph). Best part, it was a late 2021 delivery so it still has 18 months left on the original warranty. Just needs rear tires soon. Compared to dealer prices, I saved a good 5-10k and it wasn’t a lease (which aren’t always treated the best). Super stoked to take delivery this week. I’ve been longing for a BMW SUV for the past year or so and was originally considering an X5 but I really wanted something ultra quiet and plush (while still being “sporty”) so the X7 ticked all the boxes. X5 didn’t have acoustic glass, limited space behind rear seat - hard to justify using that over our Model Y where the X7 has all that and more. |

Congrats! Sounds like a well optioned vehicle too. You won't see those 757 wheels often....although my wife's has them.
What's the individual color? Did the seller share the story on that decision? |

Seller bought it as a business tax write off in 2021 following advise of accountant. He used it to drive round trip to the next state over for work and then would garage it while using his truck in town that he favored. I think the 757 are one of my top favorite wheels that really make it look luxury. I’m super stoked. About to board a plane to pick it up. Pictures to follow later today. With that, sounds like it is a lightly used specimen and should provide a few strong years of service and my Toddler sees how quickly he can lose a cup of cheerios in it. 😬 If by the end of next year (when factory warranty expires) I don’t have any issues, I’ll risk without extending it. However, if minor BS stuff starts to show signs of issues, I’ll extend the warranty. Might pay the $2-300 for a PPI to see if extended warranty is needed. I think after 5 years, I won’t have more than 70-80k miles on it which is when they really take a hit on value and begin to have higher maintenance costs. Keep y’all posted! |

Followed me home today! Needs a set of tires soon but otherwise, it’s in perfect condition.
Trying to have America’s tire match Simple Tire pricing on the DWS06’s as a set with military discount is only $1700 installed for the staggered 22” which is not far off what I paid for the Tesla MY with the same tires in 19”. Last thing that it needs is window tint as I have Stratos tint in my other cars and I immediately felt the difference coming through the driver window and windshield. Scheduled for May 3rd to get it taken care of. Probably put 40/50% on the front three windows. |

Congrats!!! How long was the ride home? I'd imagine those tires are originals.
I know it's a packaging deal but I do find it odd that there is a trim package that blacks out the roof rack and window trim, but leaves the door trim and grill chrome. |

Driving through a strong headwind (20-30mph), averaging 75 mph, it managed 23mpg on the trip computer (probably less hand calculated). Not far off than our older Lexus ES350 this replaced. The tires are original. The rear maybe have 1.5mm of tread depth while the front have 3-4. Signs point to slight over inflation of rear tires. Confirming with shop they will install tires for us as a set shipped, with tire warranty for the DWS06+ is $1550 when I checked again last night. Car is ready for the 7.2023 update (I’m not worried about ASS coding) and just ordered a Bluetooth OBD module for BimmerCode. I coded some things on the Lexus when I first bought it and it was worth doing. I’ll say the base of the seat on the luxury merino seat was not as comfortable as the Tesla seat but that was after sitting for 3.5 hours so that could have played a role in the feeling. The seat massage was very nice to have on the long drive. |
