Carbon Fiber look front lip for $90

Has anyone tried this lip from Amazon? I know I would burn $100 since will break this thing in no time but it will be worth trying.

I'm not a fan of this style because it's so low. It's almost guaranteed to hit/get hit. Why waste $100?

Solid advice here! I will burn $100 to scratch this itch.

And yes! I already got my powerball tickets. Wish me luck!

This is the crazy low hanging style. Sure to get obliterated. That said, if it’s 100% plug n play with no drilling, I’d give it a shot.

I have no hopes this will survive! probably it will be destroyed leaving my driveway anyways. I read somewhere else that no drilling was needed.

I suspect you’ll fail to achieve the expectations.

I should have typed the following instead: “Let see HOW BAD when it gets here.” Haha

As long as the lip dont blow up in pieces as I install it , I think it will meet my very low expectations.

If the carbon is so bad, maybe the gloss black could be a better option..

To be fair, I had $100 eBay front splitters on my 330e and they fit better/were the same quality as the BMW MPerformance splitter that I also purchased for almost $700. Could not get the BMW splitter to fit correctly/stay on, so sold it at a huge loss.

Well, I installed the $90 POS CF look lip and it certainly met my very low expectations and more. Wait, what? Yes, it scratched my itch. The pattern/color is certainly not the same as my other pp CF that I have in the car (that’s quite obvious and expected as shown in the pictures). It is plastic (of course!) but firm. It was delivered in 3 pieces, well packaged (my dog was surprised too. So much packaging for this!?), included hardware (I didn’t use the screws provided since this installation is just a test), it even included adhesive enhancer and the thinnest double-sided tape I ever seen. To install, I just removed 8 10mm bolts and two pins. Then connected the 3 pieces together with the smaller screws provided. Super simple, did it from the ground.

My overall reaction from 5 feet apart is: the car looks now complete! It certainly needed a lip. I added the CF air ducts in hopes to be happy with the front look but it needs a lip. I drove out of the driveway and the lip scrapes, not good but it survived!!! It scratches no matter the incoming angle, but it has not break… yet. How long will it last… probably not long. I will have the 10mm handy!

From up close, it certainly dont match or looks real but I will live with it until it gets obliterated… probaly very soon!

Here are a few of pictures for your enjoyment…

Now, if you see me on the road, stay 5 feet away.

You know, for what it is, it’s not half bad. It definitely looks Hydro dipped, which obviously gives it a different look than actual carbon fiber, but for the price is not bad. I actually have a similar lip on my wife’s F30 and it’s held up for about three years now. I paid 50 bucks for an on eBay and it doesn’t look bad, so I can’t complain.

It does not look bad, wondering how it would hold up with time, bugs, etc. Please let us know...

Will do. So far, It’s been there for 3 weeks, it slightly scrapes on my driveway but it still holding… I am quite surprised fr. As far as the bugs, we dont have much of that problem here in Southern California. If I had to do it again(wich I will for sure! LOL) I would go with the black, just because I am not convinced with the wanna be look.
