Tool kit (and I use that term loosely)

While changing my flat tire today, I noticed there's also a "tool kit" that includes a tow bar attachment, screwdriver and three plastic items.

I've checked the manual and can't figure out what the three plastic items are for. Anyone know?

If you're referring to the little piece on the bottom, I'm almost positive that it's the plug for the cigarette lighter socket.

Agreed, have a look and see if it has 12V moulded into the top of it

That's what I figured but I thought it was strange for three of them to be included in the "tool kit".

When I purchased my 3 series touring there were 3 towing eyes in the boot (trunk).

Perhaps the plug is used for the 12v 140 watt cargo area electrical plug on right side (passenger side) of x1

They probably forgot to insert it during pre-delivery prep. Had a similar incident purchasing a Mazda - it was missing a tow hook bumper cover and they pulled it off another car, but when I got home, I found it somewhere in the car.

is the black/red tool pouch a new thing for the '24 X1 in the US?

my '23 X1 did not come with such a pouch.

I only have a big big black foam block on the left of the spare tire under the trunk flood cover. There are only four things inside: jack, jack tool, tow hook, wheel lug wrench

did BMW forget to put the screwdriver in there?

They don't. Only the original one that was on the cabin 12 volt outlet has the 12V marking on it. However, they do fit so are obviously spares. Spare fuses may have been more helpful than three spare outlet covers.

No, mine had the cover inserted in the main outlet on delivery. These were just three spares in the tool kit.

That cargo outlet already has a flip/hinged cover on it so adding an additional plug is kind of redundant.

Thanks for all the input. Maybe they needed to get rid of some excess stock and started adding them to tool kits instead of trashing them. I guess we'll never know what the reasoning was.
