since getting my X1 last year, I'm still not used to how the seatbelt. Anyone else?
since getting my X1 last year, I'm still not used to how the seatbelt. I've pretty much gotten used to everything else.
I'm considered tall, so I don't know if that's why I'm still bothered by the seatbelt whenever I get into the X1. No matter how I adjust the seat or the way I sit, the seatbelt is up against part of my neck. The only way for it not to do that is to move the seat to a position not suitable for driving. Does anyone else have the same issue with the seatbelt? |

I don't have an issue, but I don't understand why BMW doesn't have an adjustable seat belt height. 6 Asian cars I've owned since 2000 had this.

I’m fairly tall and don’t have any issue that I’ve noted in the X1 with the seatbelt. I sit fairly far back and ironically my wife is very short thus why we have gone for electric seats to help when we both use the car. Working really well.

I agreed not having even a manual sliding seatbelt strap adjustment on the pillar is so “cheaply” strange. BMW stop penny pinching!! |

I’m 6’ tall and my seat is as low as it can go and I don’t have any issues with the seatbelt.

like many things, I eventually get used to it. But the seatbelt is one of those that I'm reminded each time I get into a nearly identical X1, except with non-sport seats, as in the BMW dealer's loaner X1s. Because in the X1 with non-sport seats, I'm perfectly comfortable with the seatbelt in the driver's seat, regardless of how I sit.

I'm short (5'2") and the seat belt is not comfortable for me - hits me at a weird place pretty high up on my neck, not over my shoulder as it should. My previous two cars (Buicks) had adjusters for the seat belt height on the door post. I was disappointed the X1 did not have this. And for reference, I have the seat adjusted to its highest possible position so I can see over the hood.
I need to get some sort of seat belt adjuster for both safety and comfort. |
