Update 03/2024.40 - what has it updated?
I have done about 120miles of mixed road driving since this update and cannot see or feel any difference. Displays look the same and I still have bouts of lag/hesitation when setting off from a standing start in 'comfort' mode.
So, my question is: does anyone know what this update was all about? The update confirmation text tells you nothing other than the usual legalise bollocks. |

I found the gear changes to be much smoother, and the regenerative braking to be more frequent. Before lifting the accelerator did not necessarily charge the battery, now as soon as i lift the pedal it shows it's recharging.
also it handles roundabouts much better with less lag PS i have a 23D mild hybrid |

actually the regen is objective... I take the same route every morning with the same downhills (same speed at the top, because of speed trap - 50 Km/hr) .
before it did not regen but merely free wheeled, now on those downhills it shows the car charging and it slows down more than before... I brake much closer to the roundabout at the end of the downhill than before. (i used a row of trees as reference) This is objective (I have the car since 2022 October, same route everyday). maybe the gear changes are placebo |

Just updated mine, same old privacy settings all reset and needed to be authorised again, couldn't even start the car after upload had to re-authorise the key fob on the side of the steering wheel console!!!
And why do I have to download the English package to get my sat nav to speak to me? Had to do this on the last update also Haven't spotted any improvements yet. |

The only new features in ID9 are:
- you can now call up Siri with voice only (« hey Siri »). - for i cars the charger qualities are now shown with a 5 star rating system. This was advertised in January for all ID9 cars produced after March. Cheers, CJ |

It’s funny, the hey siri support worked for me prior to this update, but now that it’s supposedly integrated I can’t get it working.

Me dash settings needed to be updated.
My Tesla S has one to two updates per month. Each update is fully explained and doesn't require downloading to an app and then requiring driving the car. The X1 process is poor. |

Haven’t tried it yet. I had to reactivate carplay after the update and was asked by the car if I wanted to enable the hey Siri feature. Clicked on yes, but didn’t try. Will check tomorrow.

Nice change in the UK is that automatic stopping at traffic lights with driving assistant now works. The menu option used to say it was unavailable in your country.

I don’t know that’s a feature in the USA with driving assistance cruise control on. I mean to stop automatically at a stop light when it red would be cool. I’ve had it tell me when approaching a STOP light camera but to STOP at it would be nice.

Another nice change is the goodbye menu has a toggle for the theft alarm that I haven't seen before. This is great since I only use the digital key and have comfort access. Ive had the theft alarm go off if I have people in the car after it locks. |

I noticed that my iX1 now consumes just 1/2 of what it used to consume when idle. It decreased from 0.6-0.7 to 0.3-0.4 kW per hour. It definitely helps in heavy stop and go traffic and queuing for hours at borders or in jams due to accidents.

Running errands today I noticed my Radio Favorites tab was not available as it previously was. I rebooted and hit "Media" again and the Favorites tab returned. I selected a radio station and went back to Media again and the Favorites tab was gone again. Also, at one point I had duplicate entries for the exact same station. Not sure if this update caused it but it's the first time I've noticed any issue.

I started this thread, so here's an update:
There is a definite improvement in response with respect to crawling and pulling away from junctions now - still not perfect, but certainly better than it was; it is more predictable. However, the engine still cuts out at very low speed rather than when the vehicle is completely stationary, which still annoys me. I haven't noticed any change in the displays (I'm on ID8) apart from there is now an option to disable the alarm (one time) on the 'goodbye' screen. Model: X1 sDrive20i 20.379miles |
