Water Leak issue
Hi Everyone,
I own a BMW X3 2020 certified car and recently got the regular service done at the authorized dealership here in NJ. Unfortunately, my car is leaking at the passenger side during rain now, even though I have taken all the service and maintenance packages. The dealership is not covering the water leak issue. They are quoting $540 for the diagnostic fee, which will be waived if I proceed with them, but I'll be charged for the service parts, although they are not sure of the cost. This is very upsetting for me because I paid close to $5k or $6k for all the service packages, but I still have to pay out of my pocket. I'm considering getting it diagnosed at a local store, which is charging me $200, but they will hold onto my vehicle for a day. I'm just not able to trust them as a first-time premium car owner. Any suggestion on what should I do. Mostly I feel its a drainage clog issue at the passenger side |

I would try a different dealer. Your service package is good at any BMW dealer.

Welcome to the forums, quick question, and not to insult your intelligence...but how does the drain holes look to you? Top and Bottom. Have you taken a peek in there? There a few videos on line about this issue.

Did they sell you a BMW warranty or a third party warranty?
Where is the water coming from? If under the dash and coming from the center console, it is probably condensate from the A/C. If from behind the trim in front of the door then most likely a clogged sunroof drain. If this, then, blow compressed air into the drain to see if you can free it. To test pour a small amount of water into the hole and see if the water is in or outside the car. Regardless, find a new dealer. Hopefully, yours isn't this bad.
