does X1 use 4G LTE or 5G to access ConnectedStore? What happens when 4G ends in 2030?
does the 2023 X1(xdrive28i) in the U.S. use 4G LTE or 5G to access ConnectedStore?
if it's only on 4G LTE, what happens when 4G ends in 2030, or at least start to be phased out? |

When ordering my 24 X1, I read that if you got the 5G antenna for WiFi that the car would communicate via 5G as well. I wasn’t sure but for 300 bucks I went for it. Not sure on the 2023’s.
Not a direct answer to your question but my 2018 M2 which has 3G, support for which ended beginning of last year I believe, I lost access to via the app. Them at some point recently I checked and I had access to seeing info about my car again on the app… very weird but it seems to be working now again. Same on my wife’s 2018 X3 that was also 3G. We have not had any updated antenna fitted or anything like that, so it seemed to just start working again somehow. Maybe someone can shed some light, but I would assume 4g will keep working in some capacity for the purpose of these connections. But again I may just be misinformed.
