Anyone know what is suppose to be where the cut outs are on either side in the rear near the netting & near the led light on the opposite side❓ By BMW not including something, it looks really cheap.

I assume BMW removed some more stuff from the US market.

I asked the technician at my BMW dealer during a recent service. He said those hole were most likely for ventilation.(audio components and other electronics installed back there) However, he didn't seem 100% sure.

I used to have a a Mercedes CLK320 and there were a couple of similar cutouts in the same location of the trunk as well. The only difference was that the cutout in the Mercedes were round, about the size of golf balls.
