iDrive 9 acting up again
Went into work, all was well and working fine. Come out and start the X1, the dash is all at default settings, all favorites are gone, and SiriusXM is out again.
Reboot and most comes back. Still had to reconfigure the dash and HID. Come on BMW… fix the damned thing.

Don’t know if this helps but I just came back from service an hour ago with Genius team lead at dealer because of a so called minor OTA update that took place last weekend. It left my ID9 without any audio for Navigation & Personal Assistant.
He did a “HARD REBOOT” while I sat in X1 with him & the volume for both returned to normal. He told me whenever system gets glitchy to skip soft reset & always do the Hard Reboot. Procedure: Start car & push/hold the center console volume button until center screen cycles off & on 2-3 times. That should take about a minute. Then let go. This should not alter prior settings. ⚠️ WHILE DOING REBOOT KEEP VEHICLE IN PARK - NOT SAFE TO BE DRIVING WHILE IT IS REBOOTING ⚠️ Claim is it debugs nearly all issues. |

Sounds like multiple soft resets but I will try that. I know I’ll have to reset my dash and hud settings. Small price to pay.

OK... I did the reboot (held the volume down until it reset 3x). Seems to be working now (mentioning it is the kiss of death). My Instrument Panel and HUD had to be reset to my prefs (small price to pay). The rest was remembered.
We will see how long it lasts. Thanks

[QUOTE=Auriemma;31326869]OK... I did the reboot (held the volume down until it reset 3x). Seems to be working now (mentioning it is the kiss of death). My Instrument Panel and HUD had to be reset to my prefs (small price to pay). The rest was remembered.
We will see how long it lasts. Thanks Glad it helped. When the Hard Reboot was done in my x1, I did not notice it altered any of my preferences. HUD & personally preference for both primary & secondary drivers remained as previously set. |

Yesterday I lost my audio from Car play, the simple volume pressed for 30 seconds seem to fix it. I did s**t myself a bit when I lost the dials whilst driving, didn’t think about it at the time! 😂
