OOOH Pontiac G8 GXP
Is coming soon. 402hp 6.3 liter. 0-60 4.7, 6-speed manual, 245/40/19" tires w/polished aluminum wheels. Loaded for $38k. 25 mpg on the highway. HMMM, I wish I NEEDED more room, but I don't. American cars(especially GM) are getting much better.
Heck the new Chevy Cobalt SS has 260hp. and does 0-60 in 5.5 seconds, and loaded its under $25k. Handles fantastic also. I know it has a cheap plastic interior. |

Ditto. The lease for my CTS-V ended on Thursday and I will not even consider becoming a GM customer again, unless they have a turnaround in quality AND service of completely unprecedented, epic proportions.

Being that it is a Holden car and very popular overseas, this will be the best GM over here. Pontiac is trying to design it to handle real good without being harsh like they usually do. They need to find out how BMW performs magic with their suspensions. But if you need a 4 door car and don't mind taking a chance on a GM, the GPX manual would be a great car IMO. I don't need the room, but I WILL test drive it. |

The recent GTO was Australian also. IMHO it looked much nicer than the new G8.
You do get alot of bang for the buck with American muscle. But, the engineering and refinement of a BMW is worlds apart from any GM product minus the Corvette. |

The G8 does look really nice but I am also worried about the quality and service reputation:

Really? I know a ton of GTO owners, and very few of them have anything negative to say about the car. The problems the GTO has (trunk and back seat access) are very obvious when you test drive it, and if you buy one knowing about these things it's hardly an issue with the car, but the buyer. There's simply nothing as fast that you can for the same amount of money. |

Really, I think this looks HOT compared to the EGG shaped GTO. Like I said, if I needed more room I would definately look at it. But the drivers seat is WAY TOO high up. Like sitting on a highchair. I think the quality will be fine and probably very reliable, the problem will be little pieces inside falling off. And cheap looking interior parts and cheap silver painted plastic. And I bet the 135i will be in the shop way more then this car. IMO. |

There are no interior issues with the GTO, and this shares a lot of the same components. The switchgear is all very durable, and everything is well put together. |

It's definitely a step up from the GTO in terms of overall style...much more modern and agressive looking. I can see quite a bit of the new CTS in the G8, which is not a bad thing at all.
The LS2 GTOs will be collectors pieces before too long though ill bet money. Not sure if the G8 GXP will ever reach that status. |

Hey, why hasn't BMW sued Pontiac yet for using the double kidney grill trademark? |
