Does anyone wear BMW clothes?

I have several M hats and a couple of M shirts. On Amazon prime day I picked up a nice looking Puma M hat and polo. Way back when I bought my M2 I had the dealer throw in $300 of merch from the little store at the dealership.

Does anyone else wear this stuff? I like it and it seems to be a conversation starter for like-minded people. I did worry about it being douchey early on, but I'm over that.

No.

The BMW/Williams F1 hats from back in the day don’t count either.

MAYBE at a BMWCCA club drive, that's about it. Otherwise, just looks douchey IMHO.

I do have a watch band in M colors. That's subtle, only "those who know" would even notice.

I bought a couple shirts and fob at the Welt when I was there. Use them all the time. Have an old e46 M3 shirt and williams hat from the Montoya days. Don’t use them. Nothing douchey about them at all. The gloves and waxing your eyebrows, well that’s douchey.

I have a medium blue BMW ball cap I wear fairly regularly. It’s in the rotation with my U.S. Army cap and my Chicago (city, not the band) cap. I have a BMW Performance Center shirt I wear for specific events when I want to “advertise” I’m a BMW guy. Mostly BMW or car oriented events, but occasionally other kinds of events. I have a pretty good collection of BMW ball caps I’ve acquired from BMW driving events over the years, but I only wear the one, and I have a pretty good assortment of BMW tumblers I use when I take a drink with me from the house, but that doesn’t happen very often.

I’ve got shoes, shirts, shorts. I never wear two or more at a time. (Except the shoes. You kinda hafta wear two shoes at a time.) I wear different BMW/ Puma shoes almost everyday. One of the shirts occasionally. Hardly ever wear the shorts. Puma almost always has a sale going on.

We moved to Lubbock on January 1st, 1965 when I was 2 1/2. Lived there until I was 26, then four years in the Army, back for two years to finish my degree at Texas Tech, then lived in Fort Worth for seventeen years and now in Chicago for coming up on thirteen years. While in Fort Worth I was home frequently and since in Chicago I was home at least once a year. I was back in April to bury my dad next to my mom. Now that I have nothing to bring me back I have no idea when I’ll be back again.

I was surprised to see the Alderson’s sold the BMW dealership (and their others) and to see the massive expansion going on at the dealership.

OP, sorry for the little thread-jacking.

I bought a Black M hat from the dealership a few weeks after I bought My E93 M3. It's my convertible hat only.

Today, I am wearing a blue F87 shirt from blipshift:
https://www.blipshift.com/products/baby-motor-werke-87. I think it's recognizable as a BMW, but most folks wouldn't know which. (And I was driving my G01 X3, not my LBB M2).

i was just in a market buying some Italian cookies and the guy behind the counter said he liked my shirt and asked if it was an F10 M5 and mentioned some other BMW chassis codes before I told him F87 M2. He said the black 1-series in the parking lot is his and his brother has an E36 M3. My wife told him I used to have a 135i before it was totaled by a tractor trailer.

He was genuinely pleased and I enjoyed the exchange.

I also have this blipshift shirt: https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...90&postcount=1, but I never wear it when I'm driving my LBB M2. That feels a bit douchey to me (with an exception for going to Cars and Coffee, or similar).

being old (81) I had to check the definition of "douchey" :

Douchey Definition & Meaning - Merriam-Webster
douchey: [adjective] characteristic of or having the qualities of a douchebag : obnoxiously annoying, offensive, or dislikable.

Based on that I disagree, to me wearing "BMW" gear is not really any different than hats/clothing of your favorite sports team.

I don’t own any BMW car clothing.

I own some BMW Motorrad clothing, such as boots. But that’s functional. (My primary riding gear is Aerostich.)

I used to wear a BMW motorrad baseball cap, but I lost it a few years ago. Oh well.

When I took a class at the Performance Center we received a voucher for items in the gift shop. I got a Performance Center labeled Polo, but I find that I seldom wear it. I wish I had picked up something else.

I got an M ball cap almost 20 years ago -- the parts counter guy told me "no charge."

Back in 1998 when I had ordered my first M3, my wife bought me an M3 shirt; I have not worn it much.

The best story I have on BMW merchandise is from 2021. I took delivery of my '22 M3 on December 24, 2021, and when the paperwork was all done and we were ready to depart, the sales manager told me to look over the items in the parts & accessories area and select any item for free! The selection was somewhat limited, and I did not want a cap or clothing, so my wife picked out an ///M carryon that if I remember correctly had a price tag of $300-plus and we took it home. We've used it a number of times since. Big win!

I have a few M Motorsport hats, a couple of M Motorsport tee shirts and a several BimmerWorld race team tee shirts. I don’t see a problem wearing the tee shirts at races and at track events. Hats can be worn at anytime. Subtle tee shirts can be worn in casual situations. Wearing a hat, shirt and pants at the same time is certainly a bit too much.

Guilty as charged here. I have BMW hats from and t shirts from 3 PCD. T shirts from BMW CCA and the dealer. My go to however is the Puma website. I have sneakers, T-shirts, polo shirts, shorts and slides. Since I am cheap I buy stuff from the website only when they are on sale and tend to buys the stuff that is more subdued, nothing to loud or logos all over the clothing. Just bought two t-shirts to take on vacation next week. I just wear 1 item at a time. Never head to toe in BMW clothing paraphernalia
