Hi,
I found an imperial hex head bolt on my garage floor next to the front wheel of my wife's 2023 X1. It's a 5/16"-18 TPI pitch approx 3/4" of thread. Question....trying to determine if it's from the car. Are the fasteners on the car imperial or metric?

Is there something more exotic in your garage next to the X1 that was a likely alternate source for the bolt?

A stray bolt in a garage with no other obvious source suggests it might be (however I’m expecting all metric to be on the car).

If you’ve got a 1960s/70s “classic” anything from the U.K. then random bolt dropping is considered normal…. ;-)

Thanks for the reply, I'm going to assume its not from the BMW. I have a few other sources that it could be from but can't determine where...I have a late model Mustang GT next to it but I think the hardware on those are metric as well...oh well it doesn't look like a bolt from anything critical on either car...suspension, drive train etc..
