Unhappy Electronics problem with my E90

Guys,
I'm having this issue that I thought at first it was just me, but it's been happening sporatically, it's happened twice or three times. Basically when I try and switch the radio stations on either my steering wheel or the radio headunit, nothing will work. The volume works, but I can't change the stations. What gives? Is there some kind of glitch? Has anyone else on a 325i with no logic sound system had this problem? I have less than 500 miles on the car.

Intermittent problems can be so frustrating. Not even sure if your dealer can help, but give them a call anyway. You may need to wait until the problem develpos further or maybe they can change the radio over.

All the best

sorry to hear, I would start a log book and write down the symptoms and when it occurs, that way the service people would take you more seriously when you bring your car in

Call the dealer. Also try resetting your ECU...I think this easiest way to do this is unplug the battery from the car overnight.

That would be my thought exactly but not for that long. Maybe for just a little while.

Well this problem is happening more and more to me as of today. I spoke with my local dealership (Sterling BMW) and they told me just bring it in.

Service man said sometimes they have bulletins or some kind of software updates available for our cars. I guess i'll do this first before I unplug the battery since I'm bringing the car into the dealership for an oil change anyways. This glitch is rather annoying but i'm sure it can get fixed somehow.

car spent the night at the dealership because for whatever reason were not able to fix it....of course electric gremlins like these will *always* work when sitting on dealership pavement. Hopefully they'll get the problem to duplicate. I need my car, they didnt even offer me a loaner car, didn't buy from them so I guess i can't expect it.
