Wife is placing order soon!

Our dealership has an allocation coming up in a few weeks and the wife has decided to get her first BMW. She loved the X2 but the color she wanted was only available on the X1.

Here’s to the wait.

X1 XDrive 28i

Blue Bay Lagoon Metallic
M Sport Package
871M 19” Wheels
Black Perforated Veganza Seats
Aluminum Hexacube II Trim
Convenience Package
Active Driver Seat
Harman Kardon Sound System
Remote Engine Start

With everyone here complaining about ride comfort are you sure she wants the m-sport package? We find no real issue with it but..

I only said that because he was on another tread saying she wanted xline because of the seats. So I'm warning him about the tough crowd on the m-sport suspension. Ill keep quite.

Unfortunately you will be bearing the brunt of her complaints when she realizes (to herself of course) that she made a mistake.

any sensible boyfriend/husband would have used a phone to record her saying that she chose the car herself. this avoids unnecessary arguments down the road. let's call it the automotive prenuptial agreement.

I told her she should test drive one with the sport seats to be sure. At first she didn’t want them, but after she changed her mind - as they often do. 😂

you can find out the actual day the final assembly will be done with this method https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2016591

ours were spot on with "prodDate": "2024-11-11", and "prodDate": "2024-11-07", both currently at the port waiting to ship out

edit: they actually shipped out - looks like it took a few days for the tracker to show "in transit" once it did, I emailed bmwgenius@bmwusa.com to ask if they had the ship name and got a reply today "...left the port of exit in Bremerhaven and is aboard the Tannhauser as of 11/15/24. It’s expected to arrive at the final processing center in Port Jersey as of 12/3/24..."

Were you able to get that to show in the MyBMW app before you got a VIN?

we had two on order with production dates 11/07 & 11/11 - both ended up on the same ship on 11/15 ... just lucky, I don't think there's any real average - I've read some wait for weeks & weeks at the port which makes sense give they aren't going to leave until they have a full or full enough load. Production must be high though because there are 2 boats in route to the US now that left at close to the same (the Tannhauser due in NJ 12/3, and the Arc Integrity - due in MD 12/2, which are currently moored next to each other in Zeebrugge)
