overhead panel key backlight flickering

Has anybody seen this: All the overhead panel key backlights are not constant on, the brightness goes slightly up for about a 1/4 second and is repeated every 1s. It is hard to take a video of it.
I'm talking about the white button backlights and red button backlight.

in the settings for the overhead light, do you have the brightness at maximum or minimum? someone mentioned in another thread that the lights flicker when brightness was set at near minimum.

I just tested, the brightness is set to the middle. The strange thing is if I set to maximum or minimum the problem is gone. It only appears lets say between 10% and 90%

I don't remember which thread this was discussed in, but they basically said the same thing. Just keep it at maximum if you don't want to see the flickering. It's not really a "problem" because it's how the LED is designed.

Went to the dealer and they didn't see this before, but then they compared it to a brand new car and they see exactly the same thing. They will contact BMW to have some feedback...

I can report that I just saw this exact flickering issue yesterday - my first thought was that the entire overhead panel is flickering because the SOS button flickers slightly (I thought the SOS button flickers by design to make it seem more “animated”) which makes me believe that they’re all somehow hooked up to the same lighting control system. It was just less obvious to me that the other button lights were flickering because all other overhead panel buttons are colored white so the flickering wasn’t as apparent.
