Considering PCD - do it!
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Everything about PCD is special, from the morning introduction to the track. If you're up to it you take an M3 out on the polished concrete and wet skid pad, turn off DSC and spin that thing out. What a blast, But then you turn the safety features back on and do it again, and push it, and you stay in control. Amazing. Several rounds of learning how to properly use ABS, followed by 8 slalom runs learning that your car actually does go where your eyes are, and if you look at the cones, you hit them. The X5 off road course is a blast. Even if only 1% of X5 owners will ever push it to those limits. Factory tour, the Zentrum, the gourmet lunch and then your personalized delivery. If you've ever had a dealership "genius" explain your car to you - leave that behind. This is the most thorough intro to your new BMW you will ever have. This is my 5th Bimmer, and I still learned a lot. I drove my new X6 M60i home to Florida and loved every minute of it. Also a shout out to Vlad at Upstate Auto Detailing in Spartanburg, who put a 3 year ceramic coating on my car overnight before I left Spartanburg. Highly recommend. Finally, Jon Shafer and Matt Corea at BMW Santa Maria, who made sure we made it through the whole hurricane issues and Florida DMV issues. Tanzanite over Oyster. Definitely recommend the Driving Assistant Pro package. It is a game changer. Fully automated driving highway driving, even in stop and go traffic. But you can still step on it when needed, and it comes back to the system.

What were the things that specifically drew you to the x6? I’d be interested to understand your thoughts and perspectives in choosing this over something else in the BMW line up.

I've done PCD four times (euro delivery 2x) and will do it every time.
Then you drive home and make a nice drive event. I really recommend it to anyone who can spare the time. If you are having a hard time finding a dealership which will 1) give you a good price (well under msrp) and 2) doesn't know how to setup pcd (shocking, but its true, some don't) then PM me. I know a great sales manager who is attentive, doesn't lie and gives great deals. With PCD you can go to any dealership, not just your local, as you are picking up at pcd

I think you get a ride from the hotel or airport and lunch. No more overnights. Bummer as it was offered when I was going to pick up the M2 when it was first released but now I get the lesser version. And no more European delivery at all 😭 |

Congratulations
It used to be even better Obviously nothing beats Euro Delivery that I did in 2017. I did the PCD in 2021 and returning again next month Iam collecting my G80 there in November. It used to come with free hotel and dinner at Marriot but they took that away. I think eventually they will do away with it completely. Especially with Germany made cars. |

Yes, you imagined it. They have never done PCD at Thermal.

As for the X6. I loved my X4 M40, but as that lease came up, I really wanted to move up. I rent from Sixt a lot and I get X5's pretty often and my best friend has a '24 X5 with MSport. Great vehicle, but I am single, no kids, no dogs, no need to carry bulky items. One time Sixt gave me an X6, and it is definitely more refined and luxurious than my X4 (not that the X4 isn't great as is). BMW definitely dials more in as you go up the product chain. But I'm also getting older, and I was thinking this might be my last truly fun, rather expensive, sporty car - and not being ready to go electric, it was hard to turn down one of the few massive 8 cylinder ICE's remaining on the market. Finally, I just grew out of sedans/coupes - again, maybe because I'm getting old and I like the higher ride height. Also last year when Fort Lauderdale got hit by the historic flooding from essentially a year's worth of rain in a day, my friends in sedans got stranded/flooded out. Those added few inches of ride height on the X4 got me home safe.
