Has anyone fitted the Michelin CrossClimate2's to your U11 X1? I have a US-spec 2024 28i, 18-inch wheels. The vehicle's tire rating is XL, which the CC2s are not but they appear to meet the gross vehicle weight requirements for each axle just fine. I live in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California, and we get a mix of rain and snow during the winter. I've had the the CC2s on other vehicles and they are fantastic. Just wondering if anyone thinks there might be an issue. I imagine the slightly softer sidewall might actually improve ride quality a bit as well.

BTW, I asked the dealership and they said it would "probably be fine" and wouldn't void my warranty going with a non XL rated tire, but you never know.

I have looked into that tire as well.

the CrossClimate2 225/55R18(tire size for U.S. X1) is only rated at 98. The X1 required 102. Most reputable tire places(Costco, Tire Rack and others) will absolutely refuse to install tires with lower weight rating, due to liability issues. That's understandable...

Several people here mentioned Hankook tires as good replacement tires for the X1. Some X1 do come with Hankooks.(forgot which model, but most have 102 weigh rating)

I will never deliberately put tires with lower weighting on my own personal vehicle. Life it too short to take such chances. Not to mention the possibility of getting into an accident and have that used against me.
