Bad Luck!
Its a long story, but when I purchsed my home 2 years ago, we were ripped off and we were sold a home that periodically floods. Water enters the house from the backyard into the driveway and then the garage and then basement. So when there is a flood warning in our area we pull our cars up to the front of the house. so we get them out fo harms way. Today we had a flood warning (we had just flooded Sat. Night) and my neighbors were on vacation so I parked my car in their driveway. Then the storm came, it was pouring and huge gusts of wind going every way. The house did not flood, BUT my 1987 Corvette Convertible with 29k mi that we moved out of the garage, that DID NOT flood, that was supposedly parked safely in my neighbors driveway.....
The Good Luck-Fiberglass, NO DENTS, and thank goodness no scratches, I picked up the branch by myself and my wife drove it out. Its just gotta get better. Shawn

My heart skipped a beat when pictures loaded. You should change your title to good luck, no scratches!

This reminds me of a story mu uncle told me, which happened back in the 70's. He had just finished restoring a Corvette to brand new condition, and then the house caught on fire. The firemen threw a burning sofa out the window, and it landed smack dab on the roof of the Vette.

Is it possible that some re-grading work around the back and side of your house could help with the water issue? It could be as simple as making sure there is a good positive slope into a ditch or sorts 3 or 4 feet way from the house and making sure that goes somewhere.
Can you post some pictures of the areas in question? |

Pics of Flood Issues
I am actually waiting for a permit to build a retaining wall behind my driveway and lift the backyard up, but the town is dragging its claws. Shawn

That was after the water went down, It was up to 1" below door handles, and I swear in my kids, there was maybe 10oz of water in the rear passenger footwell, NOTHING else. I started the car and water shot from the exhaust pipes about 10ft for a few seconds, then she purred like a kitten. Those pics were from 2 years ago and the car was never in for any work that could be water related. Needless to say I am not purchasing the car at lease end, hence the 135 on order.

I can't help but notice those two wires dangling in the water in front of the car. That could be one huge surprise when you step in the water!
