Does anyone use expressive, digital art or relax modes?

Another thread got me thinking if anyone actually uses these modes? Clearly bmw has spent time developing them and they feature on most car reviews on YouTube but I was wondering if people actually use them.

I am old school and like a speedometer and rev counter but for some reason, the space between them is smaller than the speedo and power setting so the map is smaller so i have switched to power though i find it pretty meaningless.

I wonder what settings others have settled for and do you ever change the layout?

Depending on which model you have, these modes can either be pretty nice or pretty useless. On the electric assist x1/x2’s (including the PHEVs), the sound of the electric motor changes depending on what drive mode you’re in. However, if you don’t have an electric assist car, then you don’t get this effect sadly. In my opinion I really like the Expressive mode since it sounds like the closest to the “Hans Zimmer” experience out of all the electric-sounding drive modes (Relax mode comes in a close second). Here’s a link to how sound changes depending on what mode you’re in (the sound profiles are essentially the same in all electric models, from the x1 all the way up to the i7):

I would rather have these:

1) Data charging ports
2) Door sills
3) Mesh map pockets on the back of the front seats
4) Glove box light
5) Physical owners manual

Hahaha I can see why you say that, to me it reminds me of the classic THX sound

Mine came with one for the car but on page 6 of the manual it talks about an owners handbook for the navigation, entertainment communication from service dept. I asked the dealer but not available.

If you download the BMW Drivers guide from the Apple App Store or Google Play if you are on Android, once you sign in etc. the Nav and entertainment pdf’s are available to view alongside the digital User Manual
