Wheel option 865 or 866 style?

Hey there beautiful people! I really want to know your opinion!

18" 865 style (upper image) or 18" 866 (bicolor - down image) style for the specific color (san remo) and the chrome details? Budget is tight so don't want to upgrade to a more expensive wheel option.

Thanks bimmers!

Just to let you know the bi-colour wheels have a plastic surround.
This could be good or bad, but if you curb it you can at least change the plastic rim.

Thanks for pointing that! Yes I am aware of that and that's a reason that keeps me from picking it. But I didn't know that you can replace the rim. Are there aftermarket ones?

Some have found the plastic has popped off so for me the solid alloy only is the option not the plastic / alloy ones, rather defaults the object of having alloys for me.

I have the 866 on my 2024 & have not had them pop off yet. That said, I did not realize they had hub caps & wish my sales agent was up front about it & I probably would have ordered it with 865’s instead. (Until BMW, I had not had a vehicle with hubcaps since the early 1980’s or was it the mid 1970’s?) 😂

On a positive note, I’ve heard if they do get damaged or fly off, they only cost about $50 USD each to replace. But getting a better understanding of BMW I would expect them to increase the price once they figure out it’s a cash 💰cow 🐄 for them.

865 all the way. Save the plastic wheel covers for a Corolla. If I had the 866's, I'd just remove the plastic covers--I think those wheels look better without them.

I remembered bumping into a similar photo of a bare 866. It's seems kind of naked but surely looks like a totally different design! Thanks for the feedback! 🙏

It's great to hear that you are keeping them standing! I don't know with my parking skills and the narrow streets where I live, If I manage to keep them intact! The fact is that a neighbor has the 866 style and It has the looks but I haven't seen a 865 for sometime and I don't remember it from the car company, which also had 866 at the test drive. Good to know that it's quite affordable to replace them.

Early eighties huh? We had a vw beetle back then. No style options, no problems! 😄

I really dont like any of them but if I had no choice and had to pick one of them I would go with the 865.

Straight to the point J-RO Funny story, went to the dealer, they didn't have the specific design in any of the cars... When I came back I saw one with 865 3 blocks away!!!
