Reboot /reset of Idrive

What is your input on rebooting the Idrive system?! BMW here in Denmark instructs that rebooting should not be performed unless you are told to do so by BMW personel. They make it sound like rebooting is a very serious business? Is it?

Btw. very, very satisfied with my BMW X1 xDrive25e (U11/2024).

Thank you!

Never heard it being not recommended… in fact it’s usually the first step in trying to clear up stuff. Assuming your just referring to the hold the volume knob down for 30 seconds process- as long as you’re parked there’s nothing to risk

I've used the '30 second reboot' on several BMW, and they have always been more beneficial than detrimental. For example, my current vehicle wouldn't display album art, station info or song info from the DAB radio to begin with; a reboot resolved this.

There is actually a FAQ's article on the steps here; https://faq.bmw.co.uk/s/article/How-...%20turns%20off and so I assume that BMW are happy for end users to do this.
