Good looking shape! I’m glad it’s not too much of a departure from the existing M3… as far as we can tell from these pics. I hope there is a manual version!😋🙄

Staggered F/R wheel sizing again? Looks to be some sort of external flaring on the fenders and rear 1/4 as well

Ew.

It’s not an M. It’s some EV Abomination. Why do they have to mix them up?

Yes, I know half of you are gonna start quoting me and want to tell me all the reasons why EV is the future and who am I to tell people what an M car should be.

No, I don’t care, we can have different opinions. I really just don’t think they should consider these M cars. They’re a new class of BMW.

I'll add one to the garage if it's 1000hp/1000tq, 9 sec qtr and will smoke a Plaid at $80k...it certainly won't "replace " any of my current BMW's

Have you seen the lucid air sapphire? That thing is a full ev and it out Ms the m5(last and current gen). EVs can be amazing driving cars. Just because we haven’t seen a lot of them doesn’t mean it’s not possible. If lucid can do it, bmws m division surely can.

Testing quad-motor EV powertrain in Sweden makes sense. Slippery road conditions will cause the software in charge of redirecting torque to be exercised more often.

No opinion yet other than a complete sense of respect towards the engineers making this car a reality.

Prediction: this thread will be split between the people who've experienced EVs and know how wild this thing could be and the luddites.

Edit: forgot about another type: the people who mourn the looks of the previous generations of BMW with every new model, only to come back 7 years later and mourn the look they were kicking the previous time.

I mean, I’m not speaking on a performance level. All electric cars typically have stunning Performence these days. I just feel that from my perspective, they’re very sterile driving experience and my understanding of M is that they’re entirely centered around that tactile and visceral experience when driving them. A lot of that for me gets removed when I am in the driver seat of an electric vehicle and that’s more the origin of my comment.

I’m so glad I picked up my G83 3 years ago, This EV future is a bit concerning to me. I’ve considered buying my car after the lease is up in March. Now it’s confirmed. To avoid the EV version next generation… I’m DEFINITELY buying out the lease. The positive equity I will have will be about 10k which indicates the market still values this as a possible LAST generation M3/M4. Collection Video

It will be fast and heavy just like any other performance EVs. Wonder what M battery replacement will cost...

Again…have you read up on the sapphire? Because it’s far more viseral than even the last gen m5 is. Steering feel, chassis feel, emotion, it’s literally the benchmark for fun car now. It’s even better than the taycan. I’m not even talking about lap times or raw speed, just pure fun. It embodies M more than any car in a decade that bmw has released.

Im not ready for this EV future. Say it ain’t so. I’m so glad I bought my G83 three years ago. I’m DEFINITELY gonna buy out my lease at the end of the year. Based on how the market feels about this new EV future, I’m about 10k positive on my equity with my car. The market speaks.

Add a 1 in front of your $80k and you might be a little closer.

I'm reading the comments and I realized people (most of them from USA) are ignorant and they don't understand BMW is a company that sells cars...

There are going to be 2 options the BEV M3 and the HEV M3, don't you like the electric one? Go with the hybrid, don't you like the hybrid? well, you have cars from 1986 to 202(?) to choose.

It is really really boring the same over and over, 'this going to be my last BMW', 'thats not a BMW', 'RIP BMW' .

The people that was born in 2008, 2009, 2010, etc who are going to be able to drive in 2027/2028 they don't care about the steering feel of the E46, the E39,etc as we don't care about cars from the 50's and 60's

I'm very curious about the future cars, the technology, how they are going to be fixed, because I'm a tech, most of you cannot remove a filter without watching a 30 minutes DIY video.

Enjoy life, we only have one.

The Lucid motors are the key to their success. Their motors are highly efficient and compact. They were ex-Tesla engineers who got tired of Tesla holding back innovation.

It would be amazing if BMW would just buy their motors.

I think M cars started to die and the death began with the new M5 G90.

You got it!

As someone who ponied up and bought one of the last hydraulically-steered, naturally-aspirated inline-6 BMWs, I'm looking forward to what's to come.
