Wiper Instantaneously Failure

I have a 2002 530i and its been a few months when it rains all of a sudden the wiper would stop working. However recently I’ve come to find out that if I slam hard on the gas a couple times the wiper would start working again. Also one time it work after turning off the fog lamps.

I have also recently changed the battery and alternator.

If anyone had the same issues in the past and found a solution, please help.

Thank you,

Thank you,
Reads like a wiper electrical motor connection is marginal.

Some years ago I had a marginal electrical connector for a camshaft position sensor trigger an OBD2 error code.

The engine never manifested any signs of any problem concurrent with the CEL coming on.

Car was 4+ years old and had experienced considerable engine washing due to a very hard to fix camshaft cover leak.

Then after the leak was fixed not long after the intake manifold cracked and flooded the engine compartment with hot coolant.

Based on the car's history I sort of suspected a bad connection not a bad sensor.

I finally researched the connector's location and carefully disconnected it then reconnected it. No more errors. There was just a bit of surface corrosion that interfered once in a while with the sensor signal.

If you go for the disconnect/connect be very gentle with the connectors.
