Anyone knows about B48TU2 engine?

I've seen several videos on YouTube about B58TU2 engine which has 48V and dual injection. But no any video about B48TU2. Does it exist? Does it also have 48V and dual injection? How to distinguish it by look?

I'm asking this because I have a 2024 525i of Chinese version (which is the 520i in other countries) with the engine named B48B20P. I really want to know whether it's the new generation of engine with new technology.

FWIW regarding the B48TU2 engine here's what AI has to offer:

The BMW B48TU2 engine is a turbocharged inline-four petrol engine, a refined version of the B48, known for its robust construction and ability to handle increased power gains, featuring a reinforced crankshaft and new pistons with a lower compression ratio.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

What it is:
The B48TU2 is a turbocharged inline-four petrol engine, part of BMW's modular B series, designed to replace the older N20 engine.

Key Features:
Reinforced Crankshaft: Features a reinforced crankshaft with larger main bearings for enhanced durability.

New Pistons: Equipped with new pistons and a lower compression ratio (9.5:1) to accommodate higher boost pressures.

Larger Turbocharger: Uses a larger turbocharger to deliver more compressed air through a reworked intake tract.

Closed-Deck Aluminum Block: Boasts a robust closed-deck aluminum block and forged piston rods.

Performance:
The B48TU2 in the G20 330i produces 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.

The B48TU2 in the G20 330i has low peak torque (1600 rpm) and a great mid-range. xDrive models accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds.

Applications:
The B48TU2 is used in various BMW models, including the G20 3 Series, X1, and X2.

Comparison to N20:
The B48 is engineered to accommodate additional power gains more effectively than its predecessor, the N20.

TU2 vs B48:
The TU2 version of the B48 engine features technical improvements like a reinforced crankshaft, new pistons, and new connecting rods.

Cooling System:
The B48TU2 has an innovative cooling design that separates the cooling supply into two zones: cylinder head and engine block.

Reliability:
While the B48 engine is generally considered reliable, some issues have been reported, such as coolant reservoir return line failures and rear differential pinion seal leaks.

Generative AI is experimental.
